Buddy Bonnette Scholarship

Recipient must be a Health and Human Performance Major seeking teacher certification and aspiring to be a coach - The selected recipents must portray the ideal images and style exhibited by Coach Bonnette through leadership, citizenship, character and scholarship - GPA: 2.5 - Recipient may be married - Recipient should be in need - Recipient may be a graduate student within the Health and Human Performance department - Award issued annually and recipients are determined prior to the Fall Semester - Typically is not to be repeated - Amount: 1,000; 500; or 250.
Purpose
Dr. Bonnette taught at Northwestern for more than 40 years. A steering committe was established to form a scholarship in honor of Dr. Bonnette for the positive influence that he had on so many people. Dr. Bonnette had the ability to recognize ability. More than that, to help people recognize their own abilities—to develop ordinary people to more than an ordinary degree. He was convinced that people have greater potential than given credit for. And, that people do change.
